OBIT CONNER, KENNETH CECIL
CONNER, Kenneth Cecil, ("Kennie"), 59, of Lexington, died Tuesday, May 18,
1993, at the Salem VA Medical Center, Salem, Va. Mr. Conner was born in
Rockbridge County, Va., on April 25, 1934, a son of the late Oscar George
Conner and Mary Fix Conner. He was married to Lois Conner, Lexington. Mr.
Conner was a member of the Bethesda Presbyterian Church, a member of the
V.F.W. Post 1499, was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, and worked as a
general mechanic for most of his life. In addition to his wife, he is survived
by a daughter, Ann Devore, Vernona; two sons, Lyle Conner, Staunton, Larry
Conner, Lexington; four sisters, Emily Baska, Phyllis Dudley, Shirley Frazier,
all of Rockbridge Baths, and Winnie Donald, Lexington; four brothers, Buck
Conner, Rockbridge Baths, Roy Conner, Richmond, Jake Conner, La Plata, Md.,
Sam Conner, Sandy, Utah; two grandchildren, and a number of nieces and
nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 24, 1993, at 2 p.m. at
the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. William Hamric officiating with
burial to follow in the McElwee Chapel Cemetery, Bustleburg, Va. The family
will receive friends Sunday night from 7 to 8 at the Harrison Funeral Home,
Lexington.
