OBIT HALL, REX RANDOLPH

HALL, Rex Randolph, 86, of Marion, died Thursday, May 20, 1993, in the Asbury Center at Birdmont Manor, Wytheville. He was a native of Carroll County and had spent most of his life in Wythe and Smyth Counties. He was of the Freewill Baptist faith and was employed by Bonham Brothers in Chilhowie for 52 years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Byrum W. Hall, Wytheville; two sons, Rev. Julius Randolph Hall Sr., Morganton, N.C., Rev. Troy Reynolds Hall, Nottingham, Pa.; five daughters, Mrs. Norman (Nannie Elizabeth) Sylvester, Wytheville, Mrs. Cecil (Frances) Gravely, Marion, Mrs. Marion (Barbara) Matthews Jr., Wytheville, Mrs. Ed (Peggy) Powers, Marion, Mrs. Spence (Kathy) Lyon, Nashville; one brother, Vance Hall, Marion; 33 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Barnett's Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kermit Childers, Rev. Billy Earp and Rev. Troy Michael Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the West End Cemetery, Wytheville. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Barnett's Marion Funeral Home. Barnett's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
