OBIT CROWDER, CLYDE LYNWOOD

CROWDER, Clyde Lynwood, ("Ike"), 40, of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Roanoke, passed away May 18, 1993, in Chippenham Hospital, Richmond. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucy Crowder, one brother, John Crowder Jr. and a son, Clyde (Ikey) Crowder Jr. Survivors include his wife, Chris Selena Crowder; one son, Chauncey L. Crowder, granddaughter, Chantijai Crowder, all of Knoxville, Tenn.; four sisters, Fannie S. Bolden and husband, William, Roanoke, Doris M. Crowder, Arlington, Va., Betty Bruce and husband, Wendell, Hollins; Constance (Connie) Crowder, Greensboro, N. C.; two brothers, Cecil Crowder, Hollins, Claude Crowder and wife, Rhonda, Roanoke; four aunts, Alice M. Garrison (devoted aunt), Shirley C. Wilson, both of Roanoke, Emma Richie and Lillie Calloway, both of Hollins; three uncles, Leroy Garrison and Cecil Garrison, both of Roanoke, George Garrison Sr., Hollins; mother-in-law, Dorothy Chapman, Roanoke; three sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday 3:30 p.m. First Baptist Church, Hollins, with the Rev. Charles Calloway officiating with burial in Hollins Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
