OBIT SHEPHARD, BURKS LEE

SHEPHARD, Burks Lee, 85, of Latana, Fla., died Wednesday, May 19, 1993. He was formerly of Christiansburg. Mr. Burks is survived by his wife, Geraldine R. Shephard; two sons, Jerold Shephard, Franklin Shephard, both of Christiansburg; five daughters, Mrs. Melba Bullard, Fritizgeralds, Ga., Mrs. Betty Martin, Christiansburg, Mrs. Pat Sands, Germanton, N.C., Mrs. Bobbye Kesiter, Lake Worth, Fla., Mrs. Jackye Ward, Dunwoody, Ga.; five brothers, Elmer, Ernest and Marshall, all of Christiansburg, Harvey and Raymond, both of Blacksburg; four sisters, Mrs. Lorine Hamlin, Christiansburg, Mrs. Elsie Smith, Radford, Mrs. Willie Curbby, Williamsburg, Va., Mrs. Ruby Stevens, White Gate; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday from the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. B. T. Underwood and Rev. Roy L. Gibson with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Friday evening at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
