HOLLINS LIBRARY ADDS AUTHOR'S PAPERS

Hollins College has added a collection of 142 of children's author Margaret Wise Brown's letters, manuscripts and documents to its library.

The college dedicated the collection on Friday as part of its alumnae reunion weekend. The collection will join the Fishburn Library's extensive holdings that include selected period correspondence of Benjamin Franklin, Eleanor Roosevelt, T.S. Eliot, George Eliot and the children's literature collection of Francelia Butler.

Brown, a Hollins alumna, published more than 150 books before her death in 1952. Her books include "Goodnight Moon" and "The Runaway Bunny." Some of Brown's manuscripts that join the Hollins library collection have never been published.

The collection will be on display in the Fishburn Library throughout the summer.
