The matron of honor was Ruth Rice, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Cheree Perdue, sister of the bride; Julie Miles, cousin of the bride; and Shannon Beard, friend of the bride. Flowergirl was Chelsea Miles. The best man was Paul V. Childress, Jr., father of the groom. The ushers were Mark Childress, brother of the groom; William Hume, Doyle Cain, and Roger Sims, friends of the groom. Ringbearer was Like Miles. The guestbook was attended by Doris Y. Boitnott.
The bride, escorted by her uncle,Benton Edward Miles, wore a gown of white satin with delicate schiffliembroidered lace. It had a v-neckline, short satin sleeves accented with a lace insert, elaborately beaded basque bodice, and a v-back. The full gathered skirt, edged in scalloped lace, fell into theextended chapel train trimmed in lace. She wore a wreath of silk rosebuds and schiffli lace with shoulder length veil. She carried a cascading floral bouquet of white mountain lilies, white and dark pink roses, and white and pink bouvardia.
The bride is the daughter of Ms. Peggy Miles Perdue of Roanoke. She is agraduate of Patrick Henry High School and Virginia Western CommunityCollege. She is employed by Lewis-Gale Hospital.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul V. Childress, Jr. of Warrenton,Virginia. He is a graduate of Roanoke Catholic High School and VirginiaWestern Community College. He isemployed with Tom's Snack Foods.
The wedding director-coordinator was Vaunda C. Leftwich and the weddingphotography was by Robert L. Leftwich.
Following a wedding trip to Ocean Isle, the newlyweds will live in Roanoke.
