George Wythe cruised to the girls' crown behind three first-place finishes by Stacey Green and two by Eve Kendall.
Peery won the 110-meter hurdles in 15.3 seconds and the 300-meter hurdles in 41.3 as James River amassed 97 points. Patrick Henry-Glade Spring was second with 72 points, followed by Covington (61) and Giles (60).
In the girls' competition, George Wythe totaled 127 points, blowing out Floyd County (83) and PH-Glade Spring (72). Green won the long jump with a mark of 17-5 3/4, the triple jump (36-7 1/2) and the 200-meter dash (25.6 seconds). Kendall was first in the discus (104-8) and the 400-meter dash.
