OBIT SWEENEY, JAMES WILLARD

SWEENEY, James Willard, 68, of Vinton, died Saturday, May 22, 1993. Mr. Sweeney was a World War II veteran serving in the U. S. Army, a member of Vinton Moose Lodge #1121, and a member of the Blue Grass Band, Omega 4. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy S. Sweeney; one daughter, Eva L. Beasley, Vinton; two sons, James Michael Sweeney, Nashville, Tenn., and Thomas Gene Sweeney, Ratcliff, Ky.; three sisters, Ruth Harmon, Salem, Evelyn Davis, Vinton, and Norma Jean Price, Blacksburg; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 25, 1993 at 2 p.m. at Lotz Vinton Chapel with Dr. Flavy Brown officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Monday at the Lotz Vinton Chapel.
