UVA'S SMITH MAKES ALL-ACC TEAM

David Duval of Georgia Tech was voted Atlantic Coast Conference golfer of the year and Dean Smith of Virginia joined him on the league's all-conference team.

Duval shot a 10-under-par to win his second ACC individual tournament title in three seasons earlier this month and led the Yellow Jackets to the team crown.

The rest of the all-conference team: Georgia Tech's Stewart Cink; Hans Albertson of Wake Forest; Bobby Doolittle, Danny Ellis and Nicky Goetze of Clemson; Lee McEntee of North Carolina; Kelly Mitchem and Mark Slawter of North Carolina State; and Jason Widner of Duke. Slawter was voted the league's rookie of the year.
