LETTING FBI DIRECTOR SWITCH JOBS CONSIDERED

The Clinton administration has considered finding another job for FBI Director William Sessions, who has been under a cloud since a January report accused him of ethical lapses.

"People have discussed that," Attorney General Janet Reno said last week, according to department spokesman Dean St. Dennis.

Sessions, who has completed 5 1/2 years of his 10-year term, has denied any wrongdoing.

An administration official said that finding another job for Sessions probably would require that he first be given a "clear bill of health" on the allegations by the Justice Department's Office of Professional Responsibility, which include misusing government vehicles and avoiding taxes on transportation to and from work.
