RADFORD HAS NEW RECREATION DIRECTOR

Following a four-month search, the city's Recreation Commission has chosen Ken Goodyear as the new recreation director. Goodyear, who has been serving in an acting capacity, was selected over more than 100 other applicants for the job previously held by Bob Dowless, who took a similar position in Atlantic Beach, N.C. Goodyear is a Lumberton, N.C., native and a North Carolina State graduate. Before joining the Radford Recreation Department 14 years ago, he was athletic director in Granite Falls, N.C.
