CHURCH, Zollie Hamilton, 75, of 131 Maplelawn Ave., N.E., Roanoke, passed
away Tuesday, May 25, 1993. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church, a retired
employee Spector Trucking Company and a member of the American Legion Post #3
and V.F.W. Post #1264. He was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret C. Venable.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah E. Church; one daughter and son-in-law,
Judy and Steve Covey, Somerset, Ky.; sons and daughter-in-law, Ted Church,
Richard and Belinda Church; son-in-law, Robert L. Venable, all of Roanoke;
eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby
Whittington of Taylorsville, N.C., Olivia Hayes of Millers Creek, N.C.,
Margaret Crane of Farmville. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's
North Chapel 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 27 with the Rev. William R. Harding III
and the Rev. E. Ray Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial
Gardens. Friends may call Oakey's North Chapel where the family will receive
friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
