ENVIRONMENTAL NOMINATIONS BEGIN

Applications are being accepted for the third annual Governor's Environmental Excellence Awards.

Governor Douglas Wilder will recognize winners at an October award ceremony.

Activities considered for the awards include recycling, the development of pollution prevention technology, environmental education, habitat management, soil and water conservation, volunteer clean-ups and other activities.

Nominations and applications are due by Aug. 12. Forms can be obtained from the office of the Secretary of Natural Resources, Commonwealth of Virginia, P.O. Box 1475, Richmond 23212.
