The former Washington Redskins star who joined the Phoenix Cardinals this year has promoted sports and leadership camps at Roanoke, Hillsville and Washington, D.C., during the past three years. This will be the first one to be held at his alma mater, where he first became a football star.
Among those scheduled to attend for a day or more are Redskins Mark Schlereth, Raleigh McKenzie, Danny Copeland, Brian Mitchell, Kurt Gouveia, Andre Collins, Ricky Sanders, Fred Stokes and Coach Emmitt Thomas, along with Phoenix star Jock Jones and Clark's college friend Charles Haley of the Dallas Cowboys.
The camp, for youths ages 8-18, not only teaches sports but promotes a drug-free lifestyle and independence from negative peer pressure.
