NATURAL HISTORY CLASS

The Virginia Museum of Natural History will offer a field school course June 14-19 that focuses on the diversity of Virginia's natural history, following Highway 58 across southern Virginia.

The Highway 58 course will offer participants an opportunity to learn about the biogeography along this corridor by studying coastal plain ecology and paleontology, Piedmont geology and biology, birds, rivers, mountains, coal and caverns. Geologist Jim Beard and biologist Richard Hoffman will accompany the group on the trip.

The field course costs $550 and includes transportation, lodging, theater admission, breakfast and lunch. Pre-registration is due by June 1.
