NEW YORKER LIBEL CASE GOES TO JURY

Jurors worked their way through the evidence Friday in a libel lawsuit by an analyst who claims his professional downfall resulted from an unflattering and partly fabricated New Yorker magazine article.

The jurors sent one note to U.S. District Judge Eugene Lynch before ending their first day of deliberations. It asked lawyers to clarify the numbering on tapes in evidence.

Deliberations will resume Tuesday.
