10TH HABITAT HOUSE CELEBRATION PLANNED

New River Valley Habitat for Humanity recently completed its 10th dwelling and will be celebrating Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at the house on 16th Street in Radford. Phuonge Spence is the new owner.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization with a goal of eliminating substandard housing. Using volunteers and donated resources, the organization builds houses that it offers at reasonable costs and low interest rates to people who otherwise would not be able to afford to own their own home. The recipient must invest some "sweat equity" as well, working with the volunteers to help build the house.
