NEW PRINCIPALS, ASSISTANTS NAMED BY ROANOKE COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD

Bent Mountain Elementary School will get a new principal this fall, following the retirement of Principal Lois Board, the Roanoke County School Board announced late Thursday.

Margaret S. Richards, assistant principal at W.E. Cundiff Elementary since 1987, will replace Board. A graduate of Roanoke College and Radford College, where she received her master's degree, Richards has worked in the county school system since 1963.

The board also announced the promotion of Cristina Flippen, an Oak Grove Elementary teacher, to assistant principal at Burlington Elementary School.

Cave Spring High School Assistant Principal Allen W. Journell will move into the assistant principal's position at Northside High School, the board announced.
