OBIT SWEENEY, ULYSSES

SWEENEY, Ulysses, 69, of Christiansburg, died early Wednesday morning, May 26, 1993, at the Montgomery Regional Hospital, Blacksburg. He was born May 22, 1924, in Christiansburg, the son of the late Squire Edward Sweeney and Florence Pettis Sweeney. He was a member of the Shaeffer Memorial Baptist Church, Christiansburg. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army, World War II. He is survived by two daughters; one brother; and two sisters; a devoted friend, Frances Jackson. Funeral services will be Saturday, 1 p.m. at the Shaeffer Memorial Baptist Church, Christiansburg. Burial will be at the Shaeffer Memorial Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends Saturday from noon until time of service. Claytor-Alexander and Penn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
