OBIT JOHNSON, DORIS MILDRED MOORE
JOHNSON, Doris Mildred Moore, 63, of Cripple Creek, and a former resident
of Roanoke for 27 years, died Friday, May 28, 1993, in the Wythe County
Community Hospital. She was born in Wythe County, the daughter of the late
James Claude and Bertha Clyde Jordan Moore. She was a member of the Crockett's
Chapel United Methodist Church, a choir member, and former Sunday school
teacher. She was also the former owner of Moore's Grocery Store. She is
survived by her husband, David (Bud) Johnson; one son and daughter-in-law,
Owen W. and Vicke Moore, Cripple Creek; two grandchildren, Lisa Moore, Kenny
Rowlett; three sisters, Virginia M. Dalton, Galax, Marie M. Barton, Roanoke,
Lois M. Ceary, Cripple Creek; one brother, David Wayne Moore, Troutdale;
several devoted nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held
Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Crockett's Chapel United Methodist Church. The body
will be taken to the church one hour before service time. Interment will
follow in the Crockett Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the
Barnett Funeral Home on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. Barnett Funeral Home in
Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
