GLENN M. GRUNEWALD has been named vice president and general manager of Hubbell Lighting Inc., the Christiansburg subsidiary of Hubbell Inc. of Orange, Conn. He will oversee all business activities of the full-line supplier of commercial, industrial and residential lighting fixtures. A 19-year veteran of the company, Grunewald, a Roanoke resident, most recently worked as vice president of marketing and sales. His previous positions include regional manager and distributor marketing manager of the company's Wiring Device Division in Bridgeport, Conn.
He succeeds WESSON M. BROWN who was appointed vice president and general manager of Hubbell's Wiring Device Division and elected a corporate vice president.

\ LINDA LINNARTZ has been named director of the University of Virginia Division of Continuing Education's Roanoke Center. An employee for over four years, Linnartz has spent the last 15 years in higher education.
CONSTRUCTION
\ BARRY W. BAIRD has joined Martin Brothers Contractors Inc. of Roanoke as a vice president. A graduate of Virginia Tech, he spent 10 years as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

\ JOHN C. NEWTON, vice president of Stop In Food Stores, and RONOLD N. LUNDY, president of APB/Whiting Oil Co., have been elected to the board of directors of Petroleum Marketers Inc. of Roanoke.

\ BETH D. WILKERSON has been appointed director of regional services for Roanoke and Southwest Virginia at Father Martin's Ashley, a treatment program for alcoholism and drug dependencies located in Harve de Grace, Md. She formerly worked with Mountain Wood.

\ WILLIAM H. GROSECLOSE SR. has been named to the board of directors of WLR Foods Inc. in Hinton. He has served as the chairman of the regional board in Harrisonburg of First Union Bank of Virginia, formerly Dominion Bank. He is retired from the bank where he still serves as a consultant.
MEDICINE
\ RONI STANARD of Moneta has been promoted to director of environmental services at Roanoke Memorial Hospitals. She manages a department of 138 employees who are responsible for maintaining interior cleanliness of the hospitals. She formerly worked as an assistant director of housekeeping at the Contemporary Resort Hotel at Disney World, director of housekeeping at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount and housekeeping manager at Roanoke Memorial Hospitals.

\ MICHAEL A. WAGONER has been named director of client services at Hooks Associates Inc., a Lynchburg public relations firm. He previously worked as director of public affairs at the medical center of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
RADIO
\ ROBERT W. THOMAS has been named director of news and public affairs for radio stations WRAD and WRIQ in Radford. He will oversee daily, local, regional and state newscasts on both stations; create and produce several regular public affairs programs; handle publicity for the stations; work with other staff to broadcast remote programs in the New River Valley area and provide color commentary on live sports broadcasts. He formerly handled the newscasts on a part-time basis and produced three "Focus on Radford" panel discussions.
RESTAURANT
\ KAITHLEAN CROTTY-CLARK has been appointed marketing director for Rally's of Western Virginia. She will oversee the coordination of all facets of the company's marketing, advertising, public relations and promotions. She previously worked as a promotions director at radio station WXLK-FM and as a graphic designer.
ROBOTICS
\ JOSEPH A. BARRY has joined Cybermotion Inc. of Roanoke as vice president for marketing and sales. He will head the campaign to market the Cybermotion SR2 mobile security robot system. A security professional with more than 25 years of military and civilian experience, he formerly headed his own marketing consulting firm.
