ALLEN-BLACK

Melissa Lynn Black and Christopher Lee Allen were united in marriage on May 29, 1993 in First Christian Church. Pastor Wayne McCulley was the officiatingclergyman. The reception was held at the church.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Denny L. Black, Sr. Kristina Black of Salem, was the honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Samantha Francisco of Elliston; Angela Steahly of Roanoke; and Yvette Allen of Salem. Paul C. Allen of Roanoke, served as his son's best man. The ushers were Denny Black, Jr. ofSalem; Rodney Brown of Goodview; Mike Logan of Salem; and Jimmy Harvey of Norfolk.

Melissa is the daughter of Terri L. and Denny L. Black, Sr. of Salem. She is a graduate of Salem High School and was previously employed at the Salem Police Department. Christopher is the son of Yvonne Brown of Salem and Paul C. Allen of Roanoke. He is a graduate of Glenvar High School and is employed by the U.S. Air Force.

Following a wedding trip to Mountain Lake, the newlyweds will reside at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey.
