BOY RUN OVER IN HIS DRIVEWAY

A 9-year-old boy suffered a broken leg when a car rolled over him in the driveway of his home on Honeysuckle Road in Roanoke County.

Officer K.F. Flowers of the county Police Department said the boy, Shannon Krupin, was in serious but stable condition in the emergency room of a Roanoke hospital Saturday night. He had a broken leg and perhaps other injuries.

Flowers said the boy's older sister, 11, got into the parked car shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday to get a drink she had left inside.

The officer said the car was either not in gear or the girl knocked it out of gear. The car drifted backwards and the girl was unable to stop it.

She said county firemen freed the boy by lifting the light car.
