OBIT NOLEN, LESTER, M.
NOLEN, Lester, M., 71, of Roanoke, died Friday, May 28, 1993. He was an
Army veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific. He was a member in
long standing with B.P.O.E. Lodge 197. Mr. Nolen was a well respected
businessman serving the Roanoke area for 44 years. He was a member of Jones
Chapel Church of the Brethren. Surviving are his beloved wife, Geneva Williams
Nolen; one brother and sister-in-law, Leonard J. and Mildred Nolen of Floyd;
sisters and brother-in-law, Tillie Nolen Richards, Roanoke, Bill and Eloise
Nolen Rogers, Ashland, Va.; a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services
will be at 1 p.m. Monday, May 31, in Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville. The
Rev. Jimmy Cannaday will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to
4 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's South Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
made to any Roanoke Valley Rescue Squad or to Jones Chapel, Church of the
Brethren.
