OBIT-SEARS, LEONARD LESTER

SEARS, Leonard Lester, 69, of Christiansburg, died Saturday, May 29, 1993. He was born in Salem, June 8, 1923, son of the late Leonard W. and Hassie DeHart Sears. He was retired from the Hercules Corporation after 37 years. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post 960. He is survived by his wife, Mary Meade Sears; two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah S. and John P. Vaughn, Rebecca S. and John Gary Reid, both of Roanoke; seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home Tuesday, 6/1/93, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Eddie Booth. Interment will be in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home, Salem.
