OBIT ROBERTS, JOHN IRA
ROBERTS, John Ira, of 150 Irvin Street, Wytheville, died Monday, May 31,
1993, in the Wythe County Community Hospital. He was a retired barber and a
veteran of World War II, a member of the Wytheville Baptist Church, and a
member of the Wytheville Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Velma
Nester Roberts, Wytheville; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Douglas
Hylemon, Blackstone; one grandson, Scott Kidd, Blackstone; one sister, Mrs.
Nancy Pack, Hialeah, Fla.; three brothers, Denziel Roberts, Austin, Texas,
William Roberts, Louisiana, Marvin Roberts, Pilot. Funeral services will be
Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Wytheville Baptist Church, with the interment to
follow in the Cruise Cemetery, Hillsville. The Wytheville Masonic Lodge will
conduct the services at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Grubb Funeral Home. The family
will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Grubb Funeral Home. Grubb
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
