OBIT PETERS, FRANKLIN DELANO SR.

PETERS, Franklin Delano Sr., 60, of 306 East "F" Street, Elizabethton, Tenn., died unexpectedly Sunday morning, May 30, 1993, at his residence. Mr. Peters was a native of Roanoke, Va., and the son of the late Wade H. and Annie Bailey Peters. He was a retired M/SGT from the U.S. Air Force, with 28 years of service. He was owner of Peters Furniture Store and was a member of the West Side Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Jean Ellen Thompson Peters on February 1, 1992; a brother, Evant Peters and his mother in law, Judith Shelton Thompson. Survivors include three sons and daugthers-in-law, Franklin D. Peters Jr. and Charlotte Peters of Riner, David L. and Mary Peters and Steven and Michelle Peters, all of Elizabethton; four brothers and seven sisters-in-law, Robert and Florine Peters, Hampton Peters, Wade Peters Jr., and Frances Peters, and Ruth Peters, all of Elizabethton, Bobby and Mittie Peters of Panama Canal, Judy Miller of Christiansburg, Louise Thompson of Floyd; six sisters and six brothers-in-law, Clara and Lester Kelly, Mary Ann and Bill Dix, all of Roanoke, Arlene and Jabe Houchins of Christiansburg, Virginia Holly, Shirley and Cecil Jeffers, Loretta and Toby Julian, all of Elizabethton, Lewis Thompson of Floyd; six grandchildren, Matthew Peters, Sarah Peters, Rebecca Peters, all of Riner, Cassidy Peters, Callie Peters, and Chelsie Peters, all of Elizabethton; father-in-law, Hassell Thompson of Christiansburg; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, with Mr. James D. Curtis, Minister to officiate. Music will be under the direction of the West Side Christian Church Trio. Active Pallbearers will be selected from nephews. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home or you may call at his residence, 306 East "F" St. anytime.
