OBIT SHOCKLEY, MATTIE BOHON

SHOCKLEY, Mattie Bohon, 85, of Roanoke County (Mount Pleasant Community), died Monday, May 31, 1993. She was the widow of Marshall Shockley and was preceded in death by her sons, John Thomas and Grover Junior Shockley. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Charlie and Geraldine Shockley, Thaxton, Lonnie ("Tick") Shockley and his friend, Rose Brown, Roanoke County, William ("Bunk") and Betty Shockley, Vinton; two sisters, Frances Blankenship, Bertha Weeks, both of Roanoke County, 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and a special friend, Gertrude Bush. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, Thursday, June 3, 2 p.m. with the Rev. Claude Dykes, the Rev. Gene Arnold, and the Rev. Carter Sloan officiating. Interment will be in Alcorn Family Cemetery, Roanoke County. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
