OBIT TRYKOWSKI, RAY

TRYKOWSKI, Ray, 74, of Buena Vista, died Monday, May 31, 1993. He was born in Buffalo, N.Y., on July 4, 1918, the son of the late Bronislav Trykowski and Sophie Mruke Trykowski. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Trykowski. He was a dairy farmer in East Aurora, N.Y., before moving to this area in 1955. He continued farming and was employed by Genicom in Waynesboro until February, 1993. He was a member of Neriah Baptist Church, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1686 in Harrisonburg, and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Fishersville. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Carter Trykowski, Buena Vista; two daughters, Lonni Trykowski, Carmel, Calif., Denay Trykowski, Munci, Ind.; one son, Tom Trykowski, Greenville; three brothers, Norman Trykowski, Tallahassee, Fla., Benedict Trykowski, Lancaster, N.Y., Richard Trykowski, Darien Center, N.Y.; four sisters, Mary Titus, Freida Lewandowski, Dorothy Baron and Alice Wazkowski, all of Western N.Y. A Service of Remembrance will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Neriah Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jill Crainshaw and the Rev. Ray Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Kelly Hall at Neriah Church. Lomax Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Ray was well known for his interest in gardening, his potato crop and his love of animals. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in his name to Rockbridge Area Hospice, P.O. Box 948, Lexington, Va 24450 or the American Humane Association, 63 Inverness Drive East, Englewood, Colo. 80112 or Neriah Baptist Church, Rt. 631, Buena Vista, Va. 24416. The family also wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all the members of Neriah Baptist Church, Marvin Methodist Church and members of the community who offered their love and support during Ray's illness. They also wish to thank Dr. William Fintel, Dr. Robert Irons Jr. and the staff of Rockbridge Area Hospice for their outstanding care and kindness.
