UVA FORWARD PICKED FOR WORLD TEAM

University of Virginia forward Amy Lofstedt has been chosen to play for the U.S. team at the Women's Junior World Basketball Championship tournament Aug. 1-8 in Seoul, South Korea.

Lofstedt averaged 6.0 points and 3.3 rebounds for the Cavaliers as a sophomore during the 1992-93 season. The 6-foot-1 native of Ankeny, Iowa, had been named to the East team for the U.S. Olympic Festival, but she will be replaced on that roster.
