TEXTILE RECYCLING DRIVE TUESDAY

The Montgomery County Public School system is having a year-end textile recycling drive on Tuesday.

Community members can help their school win a computer by picking up a special textile recycling bag from one of the participating schools, filling it about two-thirds full with clean and dry items, tying with a rubber band or twist tie and returning it to the school by Tuesday.

Participating schools are Auburn High and Middle School, Belview Elementary School, Bethel Elementary School, Christiansburg Elementary School, Christiansburg High School, Elliston-Lafayette Elementary school, Gilbert Linkous Elementary School, Harding Avenue Elementary School, Margaret Beeks Elementary School, Prices Fork Elementary School and Riner Elementary School.

This recycling option is intended for clothing that is too used for regular charity donations or out of season and out of style. However, hats, belts, handbags, paired men's shoes fastened together, drapes and curtains, towels, sheets, blankets and textile scraps larger than 15 inches by 15 inches will also be accepted. Call 382-5141.
