OBIT KARNES, ANDREW J.

KARNES, Andrew J., 80, of 4704 Renfro Blvd. N.W., died Wednesday, June 2, 1993, in a local hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Helen Karnes. He attended Shenandoah Baptist Church and the Church of Christ at Dale Ridge. Surviving are four daughters and three sons-in-law, Margaret King and husband, Karl, Sarah McKinney and husband, Wayne, all of Roanoke, Susan Porter of Doctor's Inlet, Fla., Deborah Salter and husband, Tom, Roanoke; five sons and four daughters-in-law, James Karnes of Richmond, Cecil and Lawanda Karnes, Harry and Nancy Karnes, all of Roanoke, Andrew L. and Diane Karnes of Columbia, S.C., Marshall Karnes of Troutville, Shirley Karnes of Botetourt County; 19 grandchildren. Graveside services will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens 3 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Robert L. Alderman officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's North Chapel.
