VINTON WOMEN'S CLUB WINS 5 STATE AWARDS

The Junior Woman's Club of Vinton received five awards at the Virginia Federation of Women's Clubs state convention in Richmond recently. Club member Mary Kay Brown served as junior chairman for the event.

First-place awards were received in the following categories: international affairs; conservation; the arts; and VFWC Continuing Junior Project, Camp Easter Seal West. The club placed second in the health division.

The five-member club will hold a membership drive this summer and fall. It is open to women ages 18-40 interested in community service and volunteering. For information, call Brown at 890-6760.
