THOROUGHMAN, Violet Lucille Musick, ("Betty Lou"), 73, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, June 2, 1993, following an extended illness. She was a volunteer for the Lung Association and was an alumnus of Berea College. Mrs. Thoroughman was a member of First Christian Church of Erwin, Tenn. Surviving is her husband, R. A. Thoroughman; two daughters, Pamela R. Thoroughman, and Eva Camille; one granddaughter, Meredith Lydia, all of Roanoke; four sisters, Janet Tate, Indiana, Juanita Harrison, Peggy Whitson, and Diane Lyons, all of North Carolina; one brother, Doug Edmonds, Tennessee. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 1993 at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel after 11 a.m. Friday.
