OBIT - WADDELL, MALINDA MCCORKLE BERKELEY
WADDELL, Malinda McCorkle Berkeley, 80, of Lexington, Va., died Tuesday,
June 1, 1993, in the Roanoke Memorial Cancer Center, Roanoke. Mrs. Waddell was
born in Newport News, Va., on December 27, 1912, a daughter of the late
Charles Carter and Malinda Bumgardner Berkeley. She was a member of the St.
Paul's Anglican Church, Lexington, a life member of the National Society of
Colonial Dames of Virginia, and a life member of the Rockbridge Historical
Society. She was the widow of the late Finley McIlwaine Waddell. Mrs. Waddell
is survived by two daughters, Betty W. Henson, Roanoke, Linda Harrington W.
Teer, Oxford, N.C.; a son, Finley M. Waddell, II, Lexington; a brother, LTC
Charles Carter Berkeley Jr. (Ret.); five grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mrs.
Waddell's home. A private family burial at the Bethel Church Cemetery in
Augusta County. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the
Salvation Army and/or a charity of your choice. Arrangements by the Harrison
Funeral Home, Lexington.
