UVA LACROSSE DUO NAMED TO ALL-STAR TEAM

University of Virginia lacrosse standouts Kevin Pehlke and Ray Kamrath have been chosen to play for the South team June 18 in the 51st Annual North-South Senior All-Star Classic. The Cavaliers' Rob Falk was selected as an alternate for the game at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore.

Virginia Tech's Dorothea Ku has been chosen as the Metro Conference's female Student-Athlete of the Month for May.

Ku, who competes in track and field for the Hokies, is a psychology major with a 3.54 grade point average. The Fairfax native placed in five events at the Metro outdoor championships in Tampa, Fla.

Tom Curran was chosen by his teammates as Radford's University's most valuable player in baseball. Curran, a senior shortstop, batted .327 with 26 RBI and eight steals as the Highlanders set a school record with 29 victories. His .964 fielding percentage was a school record for a shortstop.

Also honored by Radford's baseball team were: most valuable pitchers, Jim Abbott and Mark Walker; and most improved players, Eric Harris and Donnie Fields.

Rachid Benjelloun, Carla Rollins and Elise Dondero have been named the top tennis players for the 1992-93 season at Radford.

Benjelloun was named the men's MVP after compiling a 30-5 singles record and finishing second at the Big South championships. The junior also was a GTE Academic All-Region selection.

Rollins and Dondero shared the women's MVP award.
