JUDGE TO TAKE OATH OF OFFICE

John B. Ferguson will be sworn in today as the Roanoke Valley's newest Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court judge.

Ferguson, a 45-year-old Roanoke lawyer, was selected by the valley's five Circuit Court judges to replace Fred Hoback Jr.

Ferguson will begin hearing cases next week, although his position will not become permanent until the General Assembly meets next year to fill the judgeship.

He will join two other judges who hear juvenile cases in Roanoke, Roanoke County and Salem.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for noon today in Circuit Court, on the third floor of the city courthouse.
