OBIT BOONE, E. GLENN

BOONE, E. Glenn, 81, of Rocky Mount, died at his home, June 3, 1993. Mr. Boone started with Hub Motors and later founded Franklin Welding and Equipment, serving as president until his retirement in 1976, and was a past president of the Retail Merchant's Association. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Donald Price Boone; his parents, Henry E. and Alice Brubaker Boone; one sister, Edith Reece; and three brothers, Infant Henry Ward Boone, Herald Boone, Daniel Boone. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Booth Boone; four sons, Jimmie Boone, Larry Boone, Ray Boone, and Garey Boone, all of Rocky Mount; two daughters, Judy Layman, Boones Mill, Susan Hubbard, Troutville; twenty-five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six sisters, Lucille Benedict, Irene Hess, Gladys Gipe, and Alice ("Doley") Lesher, all of Pennsylvania, Doris Ann Shively and Virginia Dare Lynch, both of Rocky Mount; three brothers, David Boone and Russell Boone, both of Pennsylvania, Clarence Boone, Rocky Mount; two sisters-in-law, Opal B. Wray, Rocky Mount and Mary Boone, South Boston; a very special friend, Yolonda Miller. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Sunday, June 6, 1993, in the Pigg River German Baptist Church by Elder Leonard Hubbard and The Home Brethren. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Flowers are asked to be omitted and donations made to the Franklin County Rescue Squad. Friends may call any time Saturday, where the family will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Arrangements by Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home, Rocky Mount.
