OBIT MCLACHLAN, ARGYLE
McLACHLAN, Argyle, 77, of Yorktown, formerly of Wytheville, Va., and
Houston and Victoria, Texas, died Friday, June 4, 1993. Mr. McLachlan was a
retired attorney. He is survived by his wife, Helen McNair McLachlan; one
daughter, Dr. Katherine M. Rodgers; one granddaughter and one
great-granddaughter, all of Yorktown; three other children in Texas. He was a
graduate of Rice University and the South Texas College of Law. He was city
attorney for Victoria for many years and was a member of the State Bar of
Texas. Mr. McLachlan served as an elder in the Grace Presbyterian Church in
Victoria and in the Grace Presbyterian Church in Houston. He was a former
member of the Leadership Council of the Boy Scouts of America in the Victoria
area. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army during World War II. Graveside
services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 7, at the West End Cemetery in
Wytheville, the Rev. Dr. Thomas Sproule officiating. Barnett Funeral Home in
Wytheville, Va., is in charge of the arrangements.
