CLARKE-BARNES

Miss Jann Hopkins Barnes and Mr. James Taylor Clarke were united inmarriage at 7 p.m. on June 5, 1993 in River Road Presbyterian Church. Rev. Richard L. Sommers was the officiating clergyman. The reception was held at The Jefferson Hotel, Richmond, Va.

Mrs. Nolie Thomas Barnes,sister-in-law, was the matron of honor. Mr. Colston Snead Clarke, brother, served as best man.

The bride wore a Scaasi gown ofduchesse ivory silk featuring a portrait neckline and fitted basque waist. The dress was adorned with silver bugle beads and pearls and ended with a demi-cathedral train. The cathedral length veil made of bridal illusion was attached to a headpiece of porcelain ivory flowers.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Francis Barnes of Tazewell, Va. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John White Clarke of Salem, Va. and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Cameron Wiley, also of Salem.

The newlyweds will reside inRichmond, Virginia.
