COCHRANE-HILDEBRAND

The marriage of Miss Caroline Shank Hildebrand and Mr. James Montague Cochrane took place on June 5, at 4:30 p.m. at Salem Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Wilfred Bostock Webb, Jr. officiating.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Roberts Hildebrand of Salem. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Arthur Cochrane of San Jose, Calif.Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Roanoke Country Club.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of silkshantung adorned with beaded organza appliques. A lace Juliet cap held hercathedral length veil. The bride wore an heirloom sunburst belonging to herpaternal grandmother.

Mrs. Charles Gregory Caldwell ofSalem, was her sister's matron of honor. Miss Martha Anne Mongan of Salem, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Julia Cochrane of San Jose, Calif., sister of the groom; Miss Lane Tyree ofEastville, Va.; Miss Elizabeth SextonNorris of Salem; and Miss TalleyWhittington Warner of Chattanooga, Tenn. Miss Mary Claire Hildebrand of Winston-Salem, N.C., niece of the bride, was flower girl.

The groom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Eryc Keith Branham of LaJolla, Calif.; Mr. Brooke Baylor Mallory, III of Roanoke, cousin of the groom; Mr. Richard McGuinness of Boonton, N.J.; and Mr. Christopher Todd Proctor of Irving, Texas. Ringbearer was Master James Goodrich Wright, III of LaJolla, Calif., cousin of the groom.

The bride is a granddaughter of Mr. John Leonard Shank and the late Mrs. Shank of Salem, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Raymond Hildebrand of Roanoke.

Mr. Cochrane is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Goodrich Wright of Salem, and Mrs. Russell Shiveley of Brandenton, Fla., and the late Mr. James Loveless Cochrane.

The bride is a graduate of MaryBaldwin College, Staunton, Va. and received a Masters of Arts in Education from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Mr. Cochrane is a graduate of Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, Calif. and is a certified public accountant with Ernst and Young, Richmond, Va.

Following a wedding trip to Hilton Head, S.C. the couple will make their home in Richmond.
