DRESSLER-BALLARD

Julia McIver Ballard and Philip Evans Dressler were married June 5, 1993, in Episcopal Church of Our Saviour. The Reverend Joe Mills, assisting The Reverend Don Lowery, performed the ceremony. The reception was held at The Guardian Ballroom, Rock Hill, S.C. The maid of honor was Stephanie Ann Cofer, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. The matron of honor was Elizabeth Ballard Townsend, sister of the bride, of Aiken, S.C. Bridesmaids were Lisa Boykin, Rock Hill, S.C.; Liz Greene, Charlotte, N.C.; Shana Penegar, Monroe, N.C.; Michelle Smith, Aiken, S.C.; and Kristy Williams, Spartanburg, S.C. Junior bridesmaids were Kitsy Armato and Pinckney Simons, cousins of the bride from Columbia, S.C. The best man was Samuel Willis Dressler, father of the groom. Ushers were Samuel Willis Dressler, Jr., brother of the groom, of Rock Hill; Jay Killen, Middlesex, N.J.; Don Cribb, Moncks Corner, S.C.; Ben Carroll, Rock Hill; Ray Pinson, St. Stephen, S.C.; and Frank Townsend, Aiken, S.C. Ringbearers were Richard Armato and Richard Simons, both of Columbia, S.C, cousins of the bride. The guestbook was attended by Melissa Ann Westerdahl. The bride wore a silk ball gown with a cathedral train. She carried a bouquet of white lilacs, roses and lilies. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Edward Ballard, of Rock Hill, S.C. She is the maternal granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Purdy Fishburne, of Columbia, South Carolina, and the paternal granddaughter of Mrs. Guy Edward Ballard, Jr., and the late Mr. Ballard, of North Augusta, South Carolina. She graduated from Winthrop University and is employed by Duke Power in Charlotte, N.C. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Willis Dressler, of York, S.C. He is the maternal grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Nelson Matthews, of Roanoke, and paternal grandson of Mrs. William Edwin Dressler, and the late Mr. Dressler, of Roanoke. He graduated from Clemson University and is employed by Duke/Fluor Daniel. After the wedding trip to Bermuda, the newlyweds will live in Columbia, South Carolina.
