SPICKARD-COMPTON

Laurie Ann Compton and Rodney Dale Spickard were united in marriage June 5, 1993, in Rainbow Forest Baptist Church with Pastor Rick Via officiating. The reception was held at Holiday Inn Airport. Pamela Compton, sister of bride, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Sheila Barnhart, cousin of bride, Donna Wampler, sister of groom, Karen Spickard, sister-in-law of groom, Jill Cook, Laura Emick, and Deborah Robinson, all friends of the bride. Jessica Spickard, niece of groom, was the flower girl. Flower attendants were Chelsey Wampler, niece of groom, Charlie Compton, Kendall Fitzpatrick, and Joseph Fitzpatrick, cousins of bride.

Dale Spickard, father of groom, was the best man. The groomsmen were Sonny Spickard, brother of groom, Stephen Compton, brother of bride, John Ribble, uncle of groom, Keith Spickard, cousin of groom, Steven Osborne, and Todd Schaberg, friends of groom. Erik Wampler, nephew of groom, was the ring bearer.

The guestbook was attended by Swati Patel, friend of bride, and programs were distributed by Wendy Griffin and Sandra Puryear, cousins of bride. Brenda Whitely, aunt of bride, directed the wedding. Music was provided by harpist, Elizabeth Dechent. Pianist and vocalists were Naomi Rock and Rosalyn Sloan, cousins of groom, and Dale Spickard, father of groom.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Compton, Jr. of Troutville. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ada Gay of Yorktown, Va., and Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Compton of Hampton, Va. She graduated from Lord Botetourt High School and Radford University with a degree in Mathematics. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dale N. Spickard of Blue Ridge. Honored guests were Miss Lois Spickard and Mrs. Ruth Spickard, aunts of groom. The groom graduated from Lord Botetourt High School and Roanoke College with a degree in Business Administration. He is employed by CMC Supply, Inc. Following the wedding trip, the couple will live in Blue Ridge
