OBIT DALTON, MACIE CLARA

DALTON, Macie Clara, 87, of Vinton, Va., formerly of Fairlawn, Va., died Thursday in the Berkshire Health Care Center. She was born in Tazewell County, the daughter of the late Daniel and Elvira Shrader Bowman. She had been a resident of Fairlawn for 37 years and had formerly lived in McDowell County, W.Va. She and her late husband owned and operated Pepper Grocery in Fairlawn, Va., and she was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey W. Dalton. She is survived by one daughter; a brother; one sister; two grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Chapel in Bluewell, W.Va., with the Rev. Daryl Joyce officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, W.Va. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m.
