OBIT MEADOR, SYLVESTER, ("BUCK")

MEADOR, Sylvester, ("Buck"), 79, of Roanoke County, died Friday, June 4, 1993, in a Roanoke hospital. His death followed a brief illness. He was retired from Singer Furniture Company after 31 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Ruby H. Meador; three sons and daughters-in-law, Charles E. and Carolyn Meador, Blue Ridge, Kenneth G. and Aloma Meador, Shawsville, and Roger L. Meador, Moneta; eight grandchildren, Sherrie and Bill Fisher, Bent Mountain, Kenny and Susie Meador, Boones Mill, Stephanie and Dave Carmichael, Florida, Robin Meador and Ann Marie Meador, Blue Ridge, Roger L. Meador, Georgia, Greg Meador, Moneta, and Jason Meador, Shawsville, one great-grandson, three brothers, George Meador, Junior H. Meador, and Robert Meador, all of Roanoke County; one sister, Mary M. Young, Danville. Funeral services will be held Monday June 7, at 10:30 a.m. at the Oakey's South Chapel with the Rev. Maurice Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after 1 p.m. Saturday at Oakey's South Chapel.
