HOMESTEAD OWNER'S HOME ON BATH TOUR

The seven stops on the Bath County House and Garden Tour include the homes of the owners of The Homestead Resort and Bacova Guild as well as the Warm Spring Pools on the Homestead grounds.

The tour, which is centered in the Hot Springs area, is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Block tickets cost $10.

Pine Ridge, the home of Daniel H.H. Ingalls Jr., is a contemporary structure that overlooks the resort his family has owned for years. It was built in 1989.

Barn Hill, built in 1976 and redesigned and expanded in 1991, is the home of Pat and Bebe Haynes who own Bacova Guild. It also is a contemporary house with a view.

Other stops on the tour are Deerlick, which is described as a mountain retreat but is outfitted with antiques and a collection of art from Virginia and West Virginia artists; two weekend homes near the fourth hole of the Homestead Golf Course; and Hillcrest, the 1907 restored home of the McClintic family whose history goes back more than 200 years in Bath County.

Tickets can be purchased at each home, at Valley Elementary School on U.S. 220 South or Warm Spring Pools on 220 North. Call the Bath County Chamber of Commerce, 703-839-5409, for information or advance tickets.
