OBIT CHICK, JOHN BREWSTER
CHICK, John Brewster, 85, of 2500 Rutrough Road, Roanoke, died Saturday,
June 5, 1993, in a local hospital. He was born in Baltimore, Md. on June 28,
1907, son of the late Arthur Daniel Chick and Rossilene Wilbrand Chick. He was
formerly of Bolton, Conn., a retired employee of W. T. Grant Co. and a member
of Hollins Road Baptist Church. A devoted member of the Masonic Order he had
served as Past Master of Ionic Masonic Lodge #110, Past Patron of Baker
Chapter #74 of the Eastern Star both of Stafford Springs, Conn. and Past
Associate Grand Marshall of the Masonic Grand Lodge of the State of
Connecticut. His wife was the late Alice Shaw Chick. He is survived by two
daughters, Ruth C. Scott and Marilyn R. Peters, both of Roanoke; two sons,
Alden B. Chick of Bolton, Conn., and John C. A. Chick of Vernon, Conn.; also
20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, June 13, 1993, at 2 p.m. at the
Hollins Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Washington officiating. The
family will receive friends at the church following the services. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Hollins Road Baptist Church. Arrangements by
