OBIT DURHAM, MAE FANNIE

DURHAM, Mae Fannie, 91, of Glade Hill, went home to be with the Lord, June 6, 1993. She was a member of Western Light Tabernacle Church in Moneta. Born in Franklin County, March 22, 1902, the daughter of the late Peter Robert and Sally Ann Maxey Arrington, Mrs. Durham was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herrick D. Durham; a son, Mr. Guy Durham; two sons-in-law; a grandson; three sisters; and five brothers. Surviving are two sons and three daughters-in-law, Ford and Rada Durham, Gordon and Thelma Durham, all of Bassett, Fannie Durham of Glade Hill; seven daughters and four sons-in-law, Mary and B.G. Gardner, Audrey Durham, Beatrice and William Barbour, all of Glade Hill; Nannie Smith of Winter Park, Fla., Elaine and Charles Knapp of Salem, Daisy and Ray Toler of Martinsville, Shirley Foley of Bassett; four sisters, Mrs. Jack (Gracie) Moore and Eula Turner, both of Glade Hill, Mrs. Harvie (Hattie) Amos, Rocky Mount, Mrs. Randolph (Etta) Plybon, Vinton; also surviving are sixteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and a faithful friend, Ruth Fralin. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clayton Leonard officiating. Interment will follow in the Durham Family Cemetery, Glade Hill. The family will receive friends Monday, June 7, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
