OBIT ENGLISH, ALBIN MORTON ("A.M.") JR.

ENGLISH, Albin Morton ("A.M.") Jr., 69, of Route 3, Rocky Mount, died Saturday morning, June 5, 1993, at his residence. He was born April 1, 1924, son of the late Albin Morton and Ada Ann Arrington English. Mr. English was a life long member of the Doe Run Christian Church, serving as Deacon, Elder, and a member of the Board of Trustees. Mr. English was also a charter member of the Franklin County Rescue Squad and had been active for 36 years serving as Captain, Lieutenant, Sergeant, and Secretary. He was past secretary of the Board of Directors of the rescue squad and was presently serving on the board. Over the years, Mr. English had taught many first aid and life saving classes and was instrumental in the formation of several other volunteer rescue squads in the county. Surviving are his wife, Lois Hutcherson English; daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine English Dillon, LouAlice and Jerry Weddle, Betty and Billy Kingery, all of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Jim English Dillon, Ann-English Dillon, Jerryann Weddle, Ros Kingery, Lettitia Kingery, Marcie Kingery, Julie Kingery, P.C. Mora; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ralph and Ruth Hutcherson; two nephews, Richard Hutcherson and Robert Hutcherson. Funeral services will be conducted at the Doe Run Christian Church 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. John R. Leeper, the Rev. Lewis C. Arnold, and the Rev. Dr. Jack W. Corvin officiating. Interment will follow in the English Family Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Franklin County Rescue Squad or Doe Run Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service, 342 S. Main St., Rocky Mount.
