OBIT JACKSON, ETHEL ("SIS") MABE
JACKSON, Ethel ("Sis") Mabe, 83, of Wytheville, Va., died Sunday, June 6,
1993, at her residence. She was born in Wythe County, Va., the daughter of the
late Thomas J. and Mary ("Mittie") Collins Mabe. She was a former employee of
Malin's Hospital. She was a member of the Anchor of Hope Presbyterian Church
and a member of the senior citizens. She is survived by her husband, Ernest B.
Jackson; three daughters and sons-in-law, Velma and James Kirby of Wytheville,
Va., Faye and Keller Poole of Moneta, Va., Cleita and Clyde ("Jack") Brown of
Route 2, Wytheville, Va.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas B. and Georgia
Jackson of Max Meadows, Va., Charles E. and Helen Jackson of Wytheville, Va.;
two sisters, Willie Mabe Jackson of Route 2, Wytheville, Va., Ruby Clark of
Max Meadows, Va.; one brother, Walter S. Mabe of Route 2, Wytheville, Va.;
eleven grandchildren; thirteen grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews
also survive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 8, 1993, at 2 p.m.
at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Vaughan Earl Hartsell and the Rev.
Randy Morris officiating. Interment will follow in the James Jackson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m.
Monday. The family suggests that those who prefer may make memorials to the
Wythe County Rescue Squad or to the charity of their choice. Barnett Funeral
Home in Wytheville, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
